Why Give?

Following Jesus leads us to focus on giving rather than receiving. Why? Because Jesus is an exact representation of God's character (Heb. 1:3) who gives to those He loves. He loved the lost so much He gave His one and only Son who, just like His Father, gave all He had for them.

When we follow Jesus, we are givers not only of our finances but our very lives because God’s character is in us. 

People give to what they love. We love God & we love what He loves. we show God’s love for the people around us by giving to make sure they can experience God's truth and grace. By giving to the church we support the tool God uses to reveal & reflect His message (Eph. 3:10). 

We give to our local church body...
-from the heart (Matt. 6:21)
-cheerfully (2 Cor. 9:7)
-sacrificially (Luke 21:1-4)
…because we love God and we love people (Matthew 22:37-39).
